Christopher S. Jordan
Co-Founder and PresidentChristopher Jordan is the Co-Founder and President of JRX Biotech, a company he started with his father, Frederick. His focus is on strategic development and creating partnerships for the company's growing intellectual property portfolio, which include licensing, distribution, and co-development agreements. He has led the company from start-up to post revenue and sourced and negotiated a license for a widely known cosmetic formula the company developed called Hydroderm, a product that has sold over 100 million bottles and generated over $100 million in retail sales to date.
Previously, Mr. Jordan co-founded and was a Vice President of ORYXE Energy International, Inc., an innovative clean-tech company focused on developing and commercializing "green" petroleum fuel additive technologies. After starting ORYXE Energy, Mr. Jordan played a key role in securing four rounds of institutional financing that collectively raised over $33 million. Mr. Jordan also helped lead the company to over $12 million in revenue per year as a member of the Executive Management Team, which included recruiting personnel and building the company from two founders to over thirty employees. In addition, he has managed various testing programs that led to an unprecedented three state fuel additive certifications.
Mr. Jordan graduated from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University with a BBA degree and has a MBA (Daytime) from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, where he earned a certificate in Health Sector Management and was named an Entrepreneurial Fellow with honors.
Frederick L. Jordan
Co-Founder and Chief Technology OfficerFrederick Jordan is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of JRX Biotech. His focus is on researching, developing and testing the company's breakthrough technology as well as formulating finished products. Mr. Jordan is a serial entrepreneur and prolific inventor. Over the past 35 years, Mr. Jordan has started eleven different companies and invented over twenty-two technologies in various and diversified fields such as metallurgy, fabric protection, and semi-precious gemstones. He is also the inventor of the company's DermXTM MegasphereTM Delivery System technology. Mr. Jordan has been awarded a total of 23 patents, which includes six for JRX Biotech, and has over thirty others patent pending.
Aside from JRX Biotech, Mr. Jordan is also the Co-Founder, Vice Chairman and Chief Technology Officer of ORYXE Energy International, Inc. At ORYXE Energy, Mr. Jordan is responsible for inventing and fully developing a line of innovative fuel additive technologies that help reduce harmful emissions from the combustion of fossil fuels. Throughout his career he has been focused on solving complex problems impacting our environment and personal health. Mr. Jordan has been a consultant to several companies, including Nike, Easton Sports (baseball bats), Trident Marine Services, the Michigan Soybean Association, Waste Management Corporation, and Canonie Environmental Services. Some other companies he has started include Fuel Technologies, Inc., Command Chemical Engineering, and Jordan Artist Management, where Mr. Jordan was a band manager and song writer. Mr. Jordan started his career as a bench chemist at American Hospital Supply Corporation, where he re-invented both a Colloidal Gold solution that was widely used to identify a strain of syphilis in its early stages and a radioactive decontaminate wash.
Prior to his professional working career, Mr. Jordan attended the University of Kentucky as well as the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Timothy J. Tonella
Strategic AdvisorTimothy Tonella is a Strategic Advisor to JRX Biotech. He provides advisory services and helps to initiate and execute on various business development activities. Mr. Tonella brings 20 years of operating experience in the information technology space with an emphasis in sales, marketing, and business development.
Previously, he was the Senior Vice President/General Manager of Western Operations for Merrill Corporation, a billion dollar technology company that provides content delivery solutions for the financial and legal marketplace. His responsibilities included management of a $100 million aggregated P&L and oversight of all business operations, strategic initiatives, and sales development in the areas of M&A due diligence, electronic content distribution, and document life-cycle management. Mr. Tonella and his team worked primarily with private equity and venture capital firms, investment banks, and attorneys in the securities, corporate finance, and restructuring areas. Prior to joining Merrill in 2000, Tim was a Vice President for Bowne Financial and the General Manager of a manufacturing and product licensing company. Additionally, he held a variety of business development positions with RR Donnelley in their international, telecom, and information services business units, where he personally generated over $300 million of new service revenue.
Mr. Tonella is the current Chairman of the San Francisco Business Forum (the leading Bay Area networking organization for financial intermediaries) and a former member/sponsor of the Palo Alto-based Life Science Angels. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and has an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
